Trader Joe's Breakfast Bagel!

My kids love bagels but both are vastly different; one loves everything and the other is super picky. In the morning we are usually in such a rush that breakfast is on the way to school, work, daycare, sports, ect... I can get these few items from Trader Joe’s and please both kids and myself, which is one in a million. 

My youngest is the picky one, he just wants a plain bagel toasted with plain whipped cream cheese. 

Me and the older boy enjoy the simple one but really love a little bit more flavor. Our go to bagel is toasted with plain whipped cream cheese, everything but the bagel seasoning, smoked salmon and chives.




The whipped cream cheese just seems easier to spread, especially on a toasted bagel. This bagel is super delicious and takes no time at all to make. It’s close to the same begal that my son would always want from Einstein Bros Bagels, but way cheaper. We were also able to get everything we need to make this bagel at Trader Joe’s. 

This is a breakfast that we probably eat 2-3 times a week. If you like smoked salmon then this bagel is for you… the Everything But The Bagel Sesame seasoning is also a must!

Our last place on our journey was definitely one to remember, Monkey Barrel. The decor and atmosphere in this one was unmatched. A whole wall of old school pinball machines, booths with Nintendo 64s loaded with Mario Cart. A ton of outdoor seating with a patio and a parking lot converted into picnic tables, with a spot to play cornhole and a big version of connect four.  Now to get to the food… we ordered the boneless wings with the Thai Asian sauce, a Nashville hot chicken sandwich with fries, and some chips & queso.  The sandwich was good, not very hot, which worked out for the my older kiddo. Spooky Gingerbread House

On our last trip to Trader Joe’s my son spotted this spooky house kit and well just had to get it. It actually turned out to be a great project… was a little worried because I’m a bit of a perfectionist, I usually have to remind myself they are kids and art is in the eye of the beholder.  I built the house with him as it was difficult for him to keep the pieces up when attaching the next piece. Once we got the house up we let it sit and let the frosting harden a bit before attempting to decorate it. He had so much fun adding all the little candy pieces to it and wanted to explain how he decorated it when he was finished.  It was definitely worth the money, a fun activity for the kids and got them in the holiday spirit!

3 wings at 3 different price points in the 303. ($$)

My kids have really been enjoying watching a show called Worth It on Hulu, even enough that we watched the missing seasons on YouTube. The premise is they try a food item at three different prices and choose the most “worth it” at the end.  So we decided to try 3 wings at 3 different price points around Denver.  The first place we tried was Frie On The Mountain (FOTM).  We ordered eighteen wings with half Parmesan garlic and half Buffalo mild for the kiddos. I ordered a spicy margarita, next time I order it I would ask if I could swap the Tajin rim for a salt rim, just not a fan of Tajin.   We also got the appetizer sampler with onion rings, fried pickle spears and French fries. Overall the decor was relaxing and an enjoyable place to eat some wings. Lots of patio space, of course today was rainy but patios can be enclosed to still allow plenty of seating even when the weather isn’t cooperating. The next 2 wings in the 303 will be posted soon 😊.
